Two Downtown Condos Become One
Our client bought adjoining units in a historic Baltimore town house condo Conversion and were interested in combining them into one unit.
The challengers involved working with a 150 year old masonry structure that had been extensively altered as a result of the condo conversion and would likely hold a few surprises behind her walls. The original kitchen was cramped and isolated, and the bath space to be used was too small with poor access. We were fortunate enough to be able to remove a masonry wall to open up and enlarge the kitchen space and alter a second masonry wall to relocate the entrance to the rear unit consuming an old unused kitchen and allowing the expansion of the bath into a five fixture two door room to allow access from the master bedroom as well as the common hall.
The cabinetry for the job came from Holiday Kitchens in Rice Lake Wisconsin . The appliances were from the Whirlpool Corporation’s KitchenAid line. The curved Wind bath tub is from Produit’s Neptune and the shower from Fleurco, both French Canadian companies with a collection of unusually shaped fixtures allowing spaceplanning solutions in unusual situations. A heated floor from “Warmly Yours” and linen storage cabinet completed the bath space.
