Two and a Half Towson Bathrooms
Background
Many projects arise from not just want but urgent need. Our customer’s 1970s back-to-back bathrooms developed a leak into the living room ceiling below. So, combining a desire to update the two rooms, and the immediate need to address the plumbing problem, we came to the rescue and renovated both bathrooms while correcting the plumbing leak at the same time. A common wall between both bathrooms held the supply lines for the showers, and the drains for the vanities. As it turned out, a broken drain line beneath the floor shared by the master vanity and the hall bathtub turned out to be the cause of the leak. While we were there, we updated the basement powder room. We added wainscotting tile to all three rooms giving the bathrooms a fresh update.
Having solved the plumbing problem, we were able to completely update both bathrooms with new vanities, fixtures, wainscotting tile and classic black and white floor mosaic. The master bathroom got a nice upgrade as we changed out the tub for a more accessible shower with a bench and grab bars, while the hall bathroom got a nice new tub and shower doors. Another important update to the house included changing out all the upstairs doors, door casing and knobs. This seemingly small update can have a big impact. Nice door hardware can make a huge difference. The client’s cats seemed to enjoy all the updates, too.
